Whiskey Plank

mate's picture

When building a new boat, the last plank is sometimes called the whiskey plank. Sometimes the workers have a little whiskey after the last nail or screw is driven home.
On a long rebuild, sometimes the same thing happens. The last spike on the last plank of the current rebuilding was driven this afternoon.

Annie took a few swings.

Willi helped drive it in.

Tony wound up and used the set to drive it home.

A few beers and a little whiskey was used to celebrate - just to keep up the tradition.
